Muddy trails but have the possibility to be great!

Review:
Me and the Mrs went to ride Coed Trallwm Blue Trail today and to start with it was hammering it down, the initial section was great with the stream crossing being a little tricky but nothing a seasoned MTBer couldn't handle. then came the issues, there was a lot of tree felling going on in the area and this left the ground at the top of the trail somewhat undesirable and 100% unridable. Once we had dropped down from the single-track at the very top onto what i presume used to be a fire road and now resembled a river we were forced to dismount and spend 15 mins picking our way through the clayey marsh back to solid ground a mere 50ft away. I initially thought the diggers tracks couldn't have churned the road up so bad that it was too deep to ride through so i plonked my bike into the mud to see how deep it was.........straight up to the crown of my fork!!! not the sort of mud you wanna be falling in. Once we gotten back to land implementing some Bear Grylls style ingenuity the remainder of the trail was a delight though a little over grown, but ridable none the less. the best parts of our trip to this centre was the cafe its self. The guy running the place was a top bloke who had no problem in letting you know about the conditions of the trails and letting you in on the local knowledge, plus he made a mean cup of post ride tea. The car park is £2 all day and for that you get to use the bike wash free of charge once your done. A good trail but its in need of some serious care and attention.

Summary:
Very muddy on this occation!

Review:
There is a long, relativley steep up hill section before the fun begins; just keep saying to yourself that it will be worth it! The down hill section was very muddy, with branches of trees in the way as a section of the forest had just been cleared. This made it quite technical with a few drop-offs, but still great fun, so in drier conditions and without the branches it will be excellent. The bottom of the trail had just started to be surfaced; maybe they are hopeing to do all of it.
