Don't ride if you don't like pain. A proper XC route with long climbs and fast descents good fun though

Class!

Review:
This is a great buzz of a track - not too long like the red route, and just a little more technical with some fun step downs over tree routes and nicely placed rocks to clamber over/jump/drop off.

I didn't see where this 5ft srop off was, unless it was the rather large rock that you could ride down anyways.. perhaps it was in the trees somewehere on an alternative path..

My only critisism would be after you do the excellent north shore ditch section, you end up crossing a third fire road and down into a more off road, rocky/muddy surface. This follows the same direction as you had been travelling but it seems like a different route. I couldn't help thinking I was on the wrong route. Then it seemed to stop pointing the way with black arrow signs.. then I got lost! I ended up joing onto the last 3rd of the red route and not back to the carpark where I needed to get too. This was probably just me being dense but I sure could have done with a Garmin!

Good Trail

Review:
Not a bad trail to ride with lots of technical sections in amongst all the masses of pushes but the trails do need to be maintained alot more than they are.

It kicks ass!

Review:
Bike choice is a major factor on this trail. A beefed up hardtail or mid-travel full sus would be better than the 50lb dh bike that I took... It was worth hiking up some of the steeper climbs just for the switchback laden descents that followed-and yes, the north shore sections are well made too. My only criticism would be that I couldn't find the DOA downhill and hence better signposting to go with the maps would be nice.

Stick to the Red

Review:
The black is ok, but far too technical for my liking. It just doesn't flow well like the red route does. Too many climbs for un-fit people like me.

If you like it rocky, rooty and technical then this is for you. If you like fast flowing with jumps and optional technical sections then stick to the red.

The black route is also way short.
