Mostly gravel and rock covered singletrack, with a few small sections of forestry tracks. Most of the single track is well drained, and even in the wet, only a few sections are muddy. There are some obstacles, but the harder ones are avoidable.
Admission to the forest costs £7 (March to October) or £4 (November to February, or after 4pm).

The Forest is situated North/East of York, travelling East past Pickering on the A170 is the small village of Thornton-le-Dale, at the village square take the road going North, simply follow the signs to the Forest.
Please note: Distance is calculated as air distance or "as the crow flies" the most direct route between two points, so the distance by road maybe slightly longer.
