The world-famous Slickrock mountain bike trail near Moab, Utah features huge twists and rolls through Navajo sandstone to a breathtaking view over the Colorado River.
The Slickrock Trail is rated high technical difficulty and high aerobic requirement. But many MANY "not-very-good" bikers ride this trail, with a few short hikes over the tough spots.
From town, take 400 West off of Main Street. Turn right onto Mill Creek Rd. Go straight through the stopsign and follow the signs to Slickrock. There is a pay station as you enter the BLM area. Right now it costs $5 per car or $2 if you're on a bike (although I wouldn't advise riding to the trail - the road is pretty much uphill the whole way out of town).
