running the shock either way up makes no mechanical difference to it, but superwol is correct. the other way up is best as any crap or water that goes on it runs away from the seals not onto them. but as mr hoppo has a dhx 5.0 waiting for him, i suspect he is not too bothered. also his frame may not allow the shock to be mounted the other way up as the piggyback may not allow it.
nice bike as well but your brakes appear to be different? front rotor looks round and rear looks wavy? might just be the picture though. and shame about the wheels too.
in reply to everyones questions, i have the shock that way, because thats just the way it came and im pretty sure it dosnt fit in any ither way.
The frame has 6 or 7 inches of travel. both brakes are saints with the xt rotors. And yeh, the wheels let it down a little but hey, the single track isnt buckled and the mag 30 will never buckle and they both go round...
Nice looking bike, I like the simple 4 bar pivot systems.. 2 questions, does it make a difference having the shock mounted like that and how much travel do you get from it?

the shock is better the other way up if you can as it stops dirt and grime getting in as easily
