The Snowdonia Cycle Fest MTB Challenge is 2017's 'The Snowdonia MTB Challenge'. Set in Snowdonia, starting and finishing in the picturesque village of Llanberis, at the foot of mount Snowdon. The route will descend a section of one of Snowdon's paths, the only MTB event to do so. In fact it’s the only MTB event in this part of the world! You will face long stiff climbs, fast grass tracks, technical single-tracks, forest roads and tarmac to link it all together!

This year will see a weekend celebrating everything to do with cycling in what's regarded as the 'Outdoor Capital of the UK, Llanberis, Snowdonia. On the weekend of 13th and 14 of Aphril we will host the first ever Snowdonia Cycle Fest. On Saturday we will host a road bike and a Cyclo Cross Challenge and Sunday the return of 'The Snowdonia MTB Challenge' now re named The Snowdonia Cycle Fest MTB Challenge.

On the field in Llanberis we will have various companies in the industries setting up with some amazing bargains, and bikes to demo Bikes to try out, as well as an event for the children.

Saturday night the Heights will host a band, and the beers will be flowing and food available for everyone.

The Snowdonia Cycle Fest MTB Challenge 2018.

It is challenging, but very rewarding! It will challenge your riding and fitness! The route will take you to exciting places, and unless you were local you wouldn’t get to ride. Up in to the mountains, down the other side, into the forest, pass stunning lakes and mountains with Snowdon in view from various angles, before returning back up and over another mountain for the final descent to the finish!

It’s not a race! It’s a challenge, and a challenge it is!! As it’s inside the national park, we have to adhere to park rules. There will be sections of road to ride on, but trust us, what you ride off road will more than make up for it!

There are four options. Short, Medium, Long and the Dragon.

The short one at 20k and misses out the forest section and heads back around the mountains for the final lung-busting climb to the final decent.

The medium route at 35k which packs in a mighty 1015m of elevation goes into the forest where you will ride fire roads and single tracks with red and black options, and breath taking scenery before heading back for the lung-busting climb up to the final descent!

The long at 43k which will be two laps of the forest!

And the DRAGON, an all mighty 63k with 1776 meter of elevation, which will be three laps!

PLEASE NOTE! THE LAPS MIGHT CHANGE, BUT DISTANCES WILL STAY THE SAME! AND WE WILL ONLY CHANGE IT FOR THR BETTER!

Anyone with good fitness and a mountain bike can complete this. If you’re crazy enough you can do it on a CX bike. It’s not on trail centres or bike specific tracks, but on bridleways, mountain paths, forestry double tracks, forestry single tracks and the road section.

Event T-shirts can be ordered on the website www.bryniaumtb.co.uk prior to the event and collected at the event HQ on the day. Or email [email protected] with your order.
