Wellington Pump Track

Wellington Pump Track is a new purpose-built asphalt pump track at Wellington Recreation Ground in Somerset, close to Court Fields School.

Built by Clark & Kent Contractors, the track features a flowing circuit of rollers and banked corners designed to be ridden by generating momentum through pumping rather than pedalling. The smooth, all-weather asphalt surface makes it suitable for mountain bikes and BMX bikes, as well as scooters, skateboards and other wheeled sports.

Designed with riders of different ages and abilities in mind, the pump track provides a place for beginners to develop confidence, balance and cornering skills, while more experienced riders can carry greater speed and find more creative ways to link the track's features together.

The project has been led by Wellington Town Council in partnership with Wellington Sports Federation and the local Wellington Pumptrack, Skatepark & Dirt Jumps group, creating a new free-to-use riding facility for the town.

Wellington Pump Track is currently under construction and is due to officially open on Saturday 26 September 2026. An opening event is planned from 10am until 2pm.
