Twechar Pump Track is a new 240-metre asphalt pump track facility located next to the Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre in East Dunbartonshire, close to the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Designed and built by Velosolutions, the facility has been created for riders of all ages and abilities, with three distinct riding areas catering for everyone from young children and first-time riders through to experienced riders looking to progress their jumping and pump track skills.
The main pump track is a 118-metre flowing asphalt circuit covering approximately 841m². A combination of rollers and steep berms allows riders to generate and maintain speed by pumping the terrain rather than pedalling.
More experienced riders can progress onto the 80-metre advanced jump line, which features a series of increasingly large jumps reaching up to 1.8 metres high. An optional wooden kicker provides an additional challenge for riders looking to get more airtime.
Beginners and younger riders have their own separate 42-metre loop, providing a safer environment to develop confidence, balance and basic pump track skills away from faster riders on the main circuit.
The facility also features a digital World Timing System, allowing riders to record their lap times through a free app and compare their performance on the leaderboard.
Twechar Pump Track is designed to be inclusive and can be enjoyed on bikes, scooters and skateboards.
The track is currently under construction, with the official grand opening taking place at 9am on Sunday 6 September 2026. Please do not attempt to ride the track before it officially opens, and check for the latest updates before travelling.
