Llwyn Woods MTB Trails is a new community-led mountain bike development currently under construction behind Llanfyllin School in Powys, Wales.
This initiative features three progressive trails designed for various skill levels: a beginner-friendly green flow trail, an intermediate blue technical trail, and an advanced red freeride line with an accompanying skills area. All trails are accessible via a central push-up track and include features such as berms, tabletops, ladder drops, wooden balance beams, and rollers.
While primarily designed for children and beginners, the varying trail grades provide opportunities for riders of all abilities to develop their skills. Upon completion, the trails will be accessible through a community-run membership program at no cost, promoting inclusive outdoor recreation.
The Llanfyllin Community Initiative (LCI) is implementing this project in collaboration with Llanfyllin Town Council, which has secured a woodland lease from Powys County Council. Welsh Cycling provides financial support, acknowledging the project's contributions to public health and community engagement.
