Chopwell Woods Mountain Bike Trails

Chopwell Woods mountain bike trails are located in a small forestry commission site on the fringe of Gateshead in the North of England.

There are short red and blue graded trails as well as extensive natural trails. The locals are very tolerant of mountain bikers and there are plenty of hidden trails in the woods for you to explore, as well as the marked ones. lease Note: These are shared trails and they should be used with caution as there could be buggies or small children around on them.

Powerline mountain biking trail (Red 4 km)

The Powerline is a fast technical red grade trail that travels from the main car park down beneath the path of the high voltage powerline towards the River Derwent.

Parking is in the main car park, accessed by single track road from Hookergate, High Spen.
