Basically: Excellent! In its class its the most rigid I have tried. The 20mm thru axel gives a very solid feel.

I got dual airs on my other bike and was so impressed I plucked for the same again on this one. Very rigid, good control and the dual air give more plushness to brnig the performance up to the foxes. Good reliability so far after 1.5 years use. Whatever your forks I recommend Juicy Lubes Fork Juice for the stanchions. It REALLY makes a difference.

Have you tried a meta 5? Aesthetically some dislike the linkages but I'm not bothered either way around. In terms of performance I can't fault the linkage, it suits my riding style but that's obviously a matter of taste. My only criticism would be it needs a bit more lateral stiffness in the rear swing arms.

Massive fan of Commencal, and this is a lush build. How does the double chain ring set up suit trail riding? Is it a race face bash ring?

I'm always riding/bashing over large logs at Epping Forest so a large chain ring would not have lasted very long. I haven't missed the large ring so I've left the bash ring on. Luckily I had this 32t Raceface bashring spare and it matches the XT cranks perfectly.
