tis a stunning frame-but its no kona stinky '99...the stinky 1999 is orange and black-i know cos i own one and its in my pics on here...the stinky deelux from 99 is green and black-i know cos im looking at the 1999 catalog right now lol.what this is is a stab dee-lux mid 98-early 99 release and yes the downtube is ment to be bent like that-heres a link if you dont believe myself and chuck85 http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1999&Brand=Kona&Model=Stab+Dee-Lux&Type=bike. oh and the downtube is bent to allow for the marzocchi monster t forks which came as standard on it, the front tire would have contacted the downtube otherwise due to the tight geometry.sorry to go on anyway! nice bike! 10 from me =]

Love it! Was my dream bike back in the day. Head angle looks quite steep mind.

Yer the head angle is steep, mainly because when this bike was in production forks were pretty short travel so this head angle keeps the front high! Quite interesting really as now modern DH bikes are opposite,they have much slacker head angles to stop the front getting too high! Same goes for direct mount stems and the new free-ride bars with only 1/2 inch rise!
Ohh they don't make em like they use to!!!!!!!!!!!!

some black forks would be better but its damn nice (AGAIN LOL!) but whats up with the huge kink in the tube? im really not sure if thats supposed to be there?

I did have black forks on it before but change to blue because I thought they matched better!

The down tube is supposed to be bent, this is a classic 1999 stab de-lux!
This bike was the top dog in the kona range, Scott Boumount used to race DH on it, anyone remember him?

i use halfords car touch up paint on my stinky. it works really well.
