Team G-Cross Honda rider Greg Minnaar (RSA) took the silver medal today at the UCI World Championships in Rotorua, New Zealand, with Sam Hill (AUS) taking the gold and Greg's team mate Matti Lehikoinen (FIN) taking his first ever World's top 10, a well deserved 8th place.

A near 1-km long Mountain Bike Skills track has been unveiled by Sports Minister Alun Pugh AM and a host of local school children. The £30,000 track, which has been christened 'Trac Jackson' in memory of intrepid mountaineer John Jackson, adds another string to our bow here at Plas Menai.

A phenomenal display of racing prowess by the top racer in the U.S., Eric Carter, and an inspiring comeback from injury by Dutch competitor Anneke Beerten were the stories of the day at the Jeep® King of the Mountain 2006 Mountain Biking World Professional Championships in Elkhart Lake, Wis., but in the end, the world’s top-ranked male and female racers, Michal Prokop and Jill Kintner, were able to fight off adversity and bring home titles for the second time in as many events.

The 7stanes mountain bike team face a tough challenge this weekend when they attempt a gruelling 24-hour race. The endurance event – Sleepless in the Saddle – will see the team compete against bikers from across the UK to achieve the fastest lap times possible, while aiming primarily to keep going throughout the night.
