Rolling clouds and impending snowfalls (which we promptly encountered on the Tonale pass) didn't stop the riders of team Playbiker - Iron Horse, Italy's sole UCI Trade Team devoted to gravity racing, to hop on their bikes in a very cold november weekend to test ride the much awaited, and still unknown, downhill course in Val di Sole, Italy, which, in june next year, will host the UCI Mounatin Bike World Championships.

The longest purpose built mountain biking trail in the Lake District is to be created at Whinlatter Forest near Keswick. The £500,000 scheme was approved by the Lake District National Park Authority at a meeting in Kendal on Tuesday. The 19km trail will involve the building of 15km of new single track in the forest.

19-year-old British downhill star Brendan Fairclough announced today that he has just signed a two-year deal with one of the most successful teams on the International Mountain Bike circuit, Team Monster Energy/Iron Horse.
