The Wrecker is a self-supported gravel ultra from Land's End to Herne Hill Velodrome in London, running 26–30 August 2027. The 740 km route includes approximately 10,000 m of climbing across southern England.
Ride through Cornwall, Bodmin Moor, Exmoor, the Quantocks, the Mendips and the Ridgeway before following canal paths and Thames-side tracks into London. Terrain ranges from mining tracks and moorland to chalk ridges, ancient byways, gravel and quiet roads.
The field is capped at 50 riders. Every rider carries a GPS tracker, with live online dot watching throughout the event. A £150 refundable tracker deposit is collected shortly before the event.
Riders manage their own navigation, food, accommodation, sleep and mechanicals. Some ride for time; others aim to complete the crossing at their own pace. A reliable gravel bike or suitable mountain bike and experience of long-distance self-supported riding are recommended.
