2024 sees a bit of a shake up in format for the Beast and it’s guaranteed to be the best yet!

This year you showed up for us at very short notice and let us know that there was still a place in your hearts for the Beast and it must be said, everyone had a great weekend.

As a thanks and as a way of moving the event forward and keeping it fresh, we have decided to change up our format somewhat and have rebranded as a “funduro” event… It’s what the people want.

What does this mean for you, the rider?

• 7 timed stages in the Enduro style, spread throughout the forest over a 25(ish) mile course.
• Plus a time for the overall course.
• If you are comfortable riding uk trail centre type trails, this is for you.

There will be no 20 mile moors loops or needless fire road shenanigans for the sake of making up the mileage, instead we will bring you a fun course (mostly) within the forest, with some Beastly sprinklings, of course.

For the huge majority of us, this is still a big ride out and will test your endurance but the rewards will come much faster and you should still have enough in the tank to give it what for on the trails and claim those bragging rights.

Because the emphasis is still on grass roots fun, there will be no podium and no prizes, this is all about getting out there with the gang and having a great weekend on the bike. And let’s be honest, that’s all most of us want from a big event anyway. 99.9% of us are never going to sniff the podium at most events but we still love to get out there and test ourselves and most importantly, see if we are faster than our mates!
