Starting from Wells, our RIDE IT Mendips Offroad Sportive features a combination of road and off road riding taking you through the Mendip Hills with a real mix of terrain from tarmac climbs to challenging off road descents and a bit of everything else in between.

The ride starts with a short road climb to spread riders out before we pick up a challenging off road climb to take riders up onto the Mendip Hills. From the top of the climb we rejoin the road heading towards Charterhouse and back on to the off road trails again. From this point we're into some classic Mendips off road riding taking in Black Down past Beacon Batch (the highest point on the Mendips) and on to Burrington Coombe and Rowberrow.

At Rowberrow riders on the long route split off to take in an extra loop out through Sandford to Winscombe before heading back to rejoin the short route riders as they head down into Cheddar. We climb around the egde of the Gorge following the West Mendip Way for a time before starting to head back to the finish. As we head down into Wells there's a final rocky descent that will test your descending skills before returning to the event centre to collect your finishers medal.
