Comrie Croft Bike Trails are the perfect setting for the Drovers Trysts resident mountain biking favourite, the Hairy Coo. Three races, on three different courses, with a host of categories and something for all levels, abilities and bikes!

The Hairy Coo’s emphasis is on fun, friendly competition, in beautiful surroundings and the races offer you the chance to enjoy your day whether you are a seasoned veteran, a nervous novice, or just starting out on your lifetime of mountain biking adventure.

We know that there are loads of people out there riding all sorts of wonderful bikes.  We offer you the chance to get your favourite bike out and pit it against whatever everyone else turns up on.  Last year’s Wee Race was won overall on a Kona Cidercone from 1991 – can you better that in 2018?

The day is split into three main races: The Big Race, The Wee Race and the Bairns Race. The categories are as follows:-

BIG RACE

For all comers, 4 or 5 laps of our challenging big course, a real test of bike handling skills, strength and determination. Categories are Male & Female Big Race, E-Bikes and Singlespeeds. Usually lasts between 1.5-2 Hours.

WEE RACE

1 hour of racing over the lower slopes of the Croft Trails. Tear it up in fast and furious racing action, with loads of different categories all going at the same time: Male & Female Wee Race, Retro Bikes (Any MTB Pre 2000 – sponsored by Ride Retro MTB), Fat Bikes, plus U14 and U16s from the Big Tree Campervan series. Great fun!

BAIRNS RACE

Set on a specially designed course with short laps and great views for cheering the wee ones on. The Bairns race is split into the U12s and the U8s races, and is part of the Big Tree Campervan Series, and also supported by Ridgeback Kids Bikes. Expect races of between 20-30 minutes.

There’s loads going on during the day with all the racing action.  We will have some demo bikes to check out, our onsite shop, great catering from the Tea Garden Café, plus lots more.

This is a great Grass Roots event, with low entry fees, something for everyone, and amazing trails, scenery, food and craic. Get your entries in!

There will also be two SOCIAL BIKE RIDES during the week of the Tryst. We are still finalising the details, so please check back in a few weeks and we will have all the exciting news on this great addition to the Tryst program.
