The Woburn Estate confirmed in its September 2026 update that ongoing planning considerations mean the bike park cannot reopen yet. A definitive opening date will be announced when available.

Two applications relating to the site have been published by Central Bedfordshire Council. Application CB/26/01073/FULL seeks retrospective permission for the land’s use as a bike park, together with a WC and welfare unit and a ticket and ranger office.

A separate application, CB/26/01071/FULL, covers the temporary use of existing hardstanding at Steetley Quarry as a car park for three years. Both applications affect public rights of way.

There is currently no indication that either application has been refused. While the dedicated bike park remains closed, the wider bike and horse trails in Aspley Woods remain open. Riders must obtain a free temporary permit before using them.

Further updates and the temporary permit form are available through the official Woburn Bike Park and Trails website.
