Atherton Diaries Ep. 10: is this the Fastest racetrack in the world?!?

20 August 2017  |

This week’s Atherton Diaries ranges far and wide with footage from the Dyfi, the beaches of Newcastle Australia, the racetrack at Mont St Anne and Whistler bike park!

Muddy gets out his GoPro to show off his surf skills on a mid-summer break at home in Aus but there is time for some riding too on the steep and dusty trails at Awaba.

Meanwhile Dan and his team of Dyfi diggers are ankle deep in mud trying to winch a huge rock slab off the track while they are ankle deep in mud.

The downhill team are re-united on the “hero dirt” of Mont St Anne. Rach enjoys a history lesson and practises her wheelies while Gee struggles with the physical demands of the brutally fast track and the tech team struggle to keep the bikes in perfect condition.

Race day is full of drama with Mont St Anne “ the bike destroyer” inflicting pain on Kade, Rach has a massive moment off the big roller bouncing from tape to tape like a pinball, Gee puts in a great run and Muddy sends it in the wildest conditions imaginable for his best result of the season to date!

After the physical and mental demands of World Cup 6 the team are more than ready for a break in Whistler, one of their favourite places in the world, they’re joined by Dan and friends for a week of trains, whips and tricks and “the best day ever”.
