Login/Sign UpElite athlete and filmmaker Aimi Kenyon introduces Urban Delights, a powerful new short film profiling the positive impact of pump tracks across Scotland.
Scotland is home to a truly world-class spread of pump tracks. They bring the trails to the towns and increase the accessibility of mountain biking to so many new people. Pump tracks are a fun, free, and accessible way for people of all ages to get active. Found in parks and communities across Scotland, they offer a safe, traffic-free space for cycling, scootering, skateboarding, and even adapted bikes. Riding a pump track builds balance, coordination, and fitness while boosting confidence and encouraging outdoor play. They bring people together, support youth engagement, and can inspire the next generation of riders. Pump tracks also benefit local economies by attracting visitors, and their durable, low-maintenance design means they can be enjoyed year-round.
Urban Delights is the culmination of Aimi’s journey through the Fresh Cuts programme, supported by Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), Cut Media and Screen Scotland, which gives emerging filmmakers hands-on training and mentorship. In the film, Aimi visits pump tracks from the Borders to the Highlands, capturing the stories of riders, community leaders, and young people whose lives have been enriched by these facilities. Aimi’s film captures the joy, connection, and opportunity pump tracks bring.
The release coincides with the unveiling of a new interactive map that showcases every pump track in Scotland, making it easier than ever for people to discover and enjoy these community cycling facilities.
