Summary:
It seems that the mach 1 trail has been consigned to the history books, and probably for good reason.

Review:
No signage made it nearly impossible to find. The ratio of single track to any sort of track (including the A470) is dreadful and the 'brilliant final descent' is pretty much a straight fire road. What trail there is is all but completely over grown and it's clear why nobody is bothering. Avoid.

Like being hit with a wet fish

Review:
So it starts off quite XC and climby with some narrow smooth runs. Then it gets a little more technical. Near the end it gets very technical before hitting a DH style section that is the nuts...sketchy slate, gnarly and fast. just leaves you wanting more. I think its worth riding the XC to do that last section. Didn't try any of the non-trail Enduro sections....next time!

Good fun...

Review:
I'm pretty new to the mountain biking scene so decided to take this one in today after doing red/black at Llandegla last week. Firstly the trail is easy to find - well signposted with a good car park (which was empty today). The trail itself is largely some fairly steep climbs interceded with some fun red route sections finishing on a large black run (mostly downhill). The climb ups are fairly steep so a good level of fitness is required (I'm reasonably fit so it felt like a good workout). The red runs are good fun not hugely challenging but today was pretty wet so there was plenty of slipping and sliding. The route is pretty well marked although some sections the markers are weather worn so keep an eye out. The final black run is much more technical and advanced than the Black in Llandegla especially as it was very wet and slippy today - some really nice jumps but there is a large rocky incline that got the better of me (and my knee in the process)... the final berms was great fun and not for the feint hearted novice... will go back as I think this will provide a good marker for progress but novices beware of the black section... even though I am averagely fit I completed the trail in around 80 mins in the wet (so it's a long way to go for 80 min workout - for me anyway)

Summary:
epic last decent

Review:
i live bout 15 mins from this trail and its not the best of trails wales has to offer but its not a bad trail. i only do the last decent on my downhillbike and its so easy to either uplift/push/ride back up and session it again. seing as there is little maintenance happening at the moment the last decent is very rough and great for downhill bikes along witht he xc bikes offering a challenging last section but great fun. dont wait for a dry day to ride this, the trail is never dry!
