Aberfoyle Bike Park is a purpose-built mountain bike skills area on the edge of Aberfoyle in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Offering a compact network of progressive trails and technical features, it's a great place for riders to practise their skills before exploring the extensive mountain bike and gravel riding found around the village.
Originally opened in 2014, the bike park was created as a community cycling facility and has continued to evolve over the years. A major redevelopment in 2026 introduced a new asphalt pump track, dedicated jump line and improvements to the existing trails, giving riders even more opportunities to develop their skills.
The Trails
Aberfoyle Bike Park has been designed around progression, with features suitable for developing riders alongside more challenging lines for experienced mountain bikers.
The trails incorporate a mixture of berms, rollers, jumps, drops, rock features and other technical obstacles. Different lines allow riders to gradually build confidence and practise individual features before progressing onto more demanding terrain.
More advanced riding is provided by the park's challenging lines and upgraded black-graded trails, offering steeper and more technical features for experienced riders.
Pump Track
Added as part of the bike park's 2026 redevelopment, the asphalt pump track provides a smooth, all-weather circuit of rollers and berms.
Designed to be ridden by generating speed through body movement rather than pedalling, it's an ideal place for improving cornering, pumping and bike-handling skills. Its progressive design also makes it accessible to a wide range of riders.
Jump Line
A dedicated jump line provides another progression option for riders looking to improve their jumping technique. A series of purpose-built features allows riders to build confidence before moving onto larger and more challenging jumps.
The jump line feeds back into the wider bike park, making it easy to session individual features or combine different sections into a run.
Mountain Biking Around Aberfoyle
The bike park is only a small part of the riding available around Aberfoyle. The surrounding forests and hills have developed a reputation for excellent mountain biking, with everything from forest tracks and long-distance routes to steep, technical natural trails.
Lime Craig, immediately north of the village, is home to numerous natural enduro-style trails. These are generally more challenging than the purpose-built bike park and many are not officially waymarked, so riders should be suitably experienced and prepared before heading onto them.
For less technical riding, Loch Ard Forest and the wider Trossachs offer an extensive network of forest roads, gravel tracks and longer-distance cycling routes.
Facilities
Aberfoyle village is just a short distance from the bike park and has cafés, shops, toilets and other visitor facilities. Bike hire, repairs and local riding information are also available in the village.
The compact nature of the park makes it particularly useful for a quick riding session, practising skills or as a warm-up before heading out to explore the wider Aberfoyle trail network.
Supporting the Trails
Aberfoyle Bike Park has strong roots in the local cycling community. Bike Trossachs was originally formed around the project to create the bike park and remains involved in its ongoing development and maintenance.
Riders can support the work of Bike Trossachs Trail Association, which helps maintain and improve mountain bike trails throughout the surrounding area.
