Average Joe Reviews.... Earthed : The Law of Fives

Most of us are aware of the Earthed format as being the DVD to buy for tip top race footage and some great cameos. Earthed 5 doesn't disappoint in this context as it delivers all of this. Earthed 5 Review Everyone has their favourite Earthed and mine is no.3 but the first edition comes in a close second. Many people felt that the 4th fell short and the 5th is back on form. I didn’t feel this myself but the 5th is as good as the rest. The race footage is very good and offers a good perspective of the diversity of courses in the World Cup. As a Brit I would have loved much more on the World Champs as they were on our home turf. It would have been good to tap into that euphoria of the crowd when Mr Cunningham won and the general atmosphere of the weekend. The fillers and cameos weren't as good as they have been in the past but are still better than most DVDs on offer out there. The one difference this time was the focus on interviews with the stars which worked really well and I hope that the theme continues for next time as it adds another dimension. Earthed 5 has been critecised by some for being the 'Sam Hill' show but lets face it, this year was the 'Sam Hill show' and he deserves the coverage, his effortless style was great to watch so Im not sure what the fuss was all about. The real bonus was the huge pile of extras with over an extra hour of footage that made the DVD a value for money buy. Only gripe: The spoken parts seemed a lot quieter than the rest of the soundtrack leading to a lot of adjustment of the volume. All in all a worthy no.5 and a worthwhile purchase.
