In a move that diversifies their European team’s riding disciplines, the Kona Bicycle Company announced today the signing of twenty-three year old UK dirt jump superstar Grant ‘Chopper’ Fielder to the Kona Clump Team.
A Southhampton native, Fielder is regarded as ‘King of UK Dirt Jumpers’, having won John Cowan’s Backyard Jam in 2004 and dirt jump events at the UK Bike Show in 2004 and 2005.
Kona is happy to announce Fielder is now contracted with the Clump Team through 2007.
“I’m very excited to ride for Kona,” said Fielder. “They’re the perfect company to allow me to branch out into freeride events around the world while staying true to my dirt jumping roots.”
Fielder plans to focus on District Ride and Slopestyle events this season, and will compete in the UK, Europe and the United States in 2006. He will be riding and competing on a signature Stuff hardtail for dirt jump events and a Howler for slopestyle events.
Russell Carty, Marketing Director for Kona in Europe, said Fielder is a tremendous asset to Kona’s dirt jump and freeride presence, both in Europe and around the world.
“He’s a great addition to the Clump Team,” said Carty. “We’re anticipating a monster season from Chopper this year, and from the entire Clump Team.”

Going into the riding season of 2006 Gully will be wearing Sombrio to cover up his body while riding his bike wherever it takes him.
The young Canadian comes from the stomping grounds on Vancouver's north shore. One of the most accomplished all round riders out there known for merging his jumping skills along with big drops and gaps. "That kid is not afraid. He was sending it!" says Blake Jorgenson, world-renowed photographer, referring to Gully's riding style.
Gully's plans for 2006 will revolve around pushing his film, freeride and slopestyle work. "For 06 i'm looking to podium some slope-styles and step-up my sections for the movies." With that future in sight, Gully continued blowing up the big screen with standout segments in The Collective and New World Disorder 6, and is in the progress of shooting for upcoming features Roam, BITS CKD and NWD 7.

Yes, you did read that right. Dragon DH are trying to get enough support and investment to get a chairlift installed for a permanent DH / Freeride venue in South Wales.
With the current tightening of regulations on uplift transport the problem of how to get your big bike to the top of the hill is a real issue at the moment. However this means the timing is perfect for Dragon Downhills radical "a chairlift in five years or your money back" investment scheme.
The scheme has only just kicked off, but basically by getting serious investors to pledge money it confirms the real support of riders to the idea of a permanent Whistler / Morzine style park in South Wales. It'll also be much easier for the scheme to get 'matched' grant aid if they`ve already got some money of their own to invest.
For more information on this scheme then head to www.dragondownhill.co.uk

The all new Juicy Ultimate is just what it says. The new brake was designed to incorporate all the benefits of the Juicy 7 optimized for the ultra weight conscious XC rider.
A few grams here, a few grams there...not a huge change in itself. But when you shave 80 grams and maintain the best performance and the most advanced features on the market...now you're talking about a big difference. A difference that helps you ride faster and with more control.
The combination of the inviting thin wall carbon lever blade, super-light, low-profile magnesium lever body, and the racy new one piece Monoblok™ caliper design all work together to make a package that looks and feels as fast as they are.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Ultimate brake without the Pad Contact Point Adjustment, but this time it’s so sleek and so sexy, you just might miss it. Now you can pick the position of your fingers where the brakes grip, and you can balance the levers with the simple twist of a 2.5mm hex wrench. Plus, there’s never been an easier hydraulic disc to install. With Avid’s Tri-Align™ Caliper Positioning System™, alignment of the brake caliper literally takes seconds.
Be on the lookout for athletes like Thomas Frischknecht (Team Swisspower), Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski (Subaru-Gary Fisher), and Julien Absalon (Motorex-Bianchi) racing on Juicy Ultimate.

Argyle provides everything a dirt jumper needs – strength, function and style!
Argyle is available in three different models: the 302, 318, and the top of the line 409. How big is your engine? The bigger the engine, the better. The model designators are simple, the higher the number, the bigger the features.
The colors available Aftermarket for the 302 are Black, the 318 in White, and the 409 in Punish-Mint. OE color options may vary. Each feature a fresh new graphic treatment.
The top of the line Argyle 409 features 100mm travel and Motion Control Damping. Riders can control their ride with adjustable floodgate and external compression via aluminum controls.
Argyle 409 is the first fully air sprung Dirt Jump fork and features RockShox’s patented Solo Air. Solo Air uses a single air valve to fill both positive and negative air chambers simultaneously. This ensures a simple and light weight set-up with a plush ride.
All Argyle forks include the now legendary Maxle system. Maxle 360 is a great idea made better. With the 360 design, riders get the added benefit of positioning the Maxle lever wherever they want.
The Argyle 409 tips the scales at 5.15 lbs (2336g). Weight based on a full length steerer (265mm) and Maxle 360.
