As the book closes on yet another quality Mountain Bike racing season, Team Monster Energy's riders and Team Manager reflect on the World Cup finals in Schladming, Austria, as well as the season as a whole and look forward to the 2009 season.

Saturday saw the realisation of goal that behind it had a lot of hard work, especially in the off season, and that goal was to reclaim the World Cup title that injury and bad luck have prevented Greg from defending for the past 2 years.

Well the long season came to a climax this past weekend in Schladming, Austria with possibly the best track of the year according to most of the riders. There was some upsets and great rides and unfortunately we didn't have the best of weekends.

Many people thought Sam would win at Schladming and were saying so all over the internet for weeks, it's just they were talking about the other Sam, Mr Hill.

The Santa Cruz Syndicate bagged all the titles they chased this year in Schladming, Austria at the Nissan UCI World Cup Series finale.

Heading into the first race of the Jeep 48STRAIGHT Mountain Bike Series last month in New Jersey, one would have been hard pressed to pick fellow Californians Cody Warren and Kathy Pruitt as favorites to bring home a title.

After a bad injury in the middle of the year, Darren Pokoj dominated the international Nissan Dirt Jump comp during the last day of the Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Following the success of last years night race in Edinburgh we can now confirm this years race will take place in Scarborough on Saturday 4th October and is now UCI C2 race.

After a result in Canberra at the penultimate round of the UCI World Cup, that by his own admission was a disappointment, reigning World Cup Champion Sam Hill (Team Monster Energy Iron Horse) is keen to get back on the race course in Schladming and defend his series title.
