As of today it is official SR Suntour will support the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour for the upcoming season.
Just in time before the Tour's kick-off event Vienna Air King on April 2nd and 3rd, SR Suntour has finalized the decision to help the FMBA push the mountain bike freeride sport to the next level.
The FMBA's main goal is to help develop the sport of freeride mountain biking by providing athletes and event organizers with a tangible world ranking system and guidelines for course design, judging and safety. Todd Barber, new president of the association, appreciates the vote of confidence from the manufacturer: “SR Suntour shares our values and we are very excited to have their support. The partnership with SR Suntour takes us one step further in our aim to establish the FMB World Tour as the freeride sport's overarching World Series event. The growing circle of strong partners who are firmly established in the mountain bike freeride world is also tangible proof that we are on the right path."

SR Suntour has gone through many changes in its almost 100-year-long history. Since they built their first suspension fork in 1993, they have managed to expand their scope, size and market. Throughout all these changes, one thing has remained the same: Their passion, time and thoughts, love and energy, are dedicated to biking. Their commitment to the freeride sector is nothing new either – their involvement exceeds the mere manufacturing of forks, shocks and a large number of other components; SR Suntour also sponsors several riders directly, such as Linus Sjoholm, Bienvenido Aguado or Marius Hoppensack[1] . Tim Fischer, SR Suntour marketing explains: "By supporting the FMB World Tour we would like to give back some of the support our riders give us every day by providing professional feedback on our latest products and actively help improving cycling. For us the FMB World Tour is an important platform that brings together all athletes, industry and media and thus helps pushing our sport to the next level."
Further official dates for the FMB World Tour 2011 will be announced shortly. The FMBA is looking forward to the new season with strong supporters backing up the association's efforts to further the freeride sport.
