Halo BDS Round 2 This Weekend

7 April 2011  |
Over 350 of the UK's top downhill mountain bikers will be descending off a 1,000ft high mountain in a timed trial race at Moelfre just west of Oswestry. Riders of all ages from twelve to fifty years of age will tackle the National standard track that offers magnificent views and vantage points for every spectator. The riders will hit speeds of over 50mph and take in a huge array of natural and manmade obstacles and jumps some of which are several feet high and over 40ft long. With many of the World's top riders in attendance fighting the clock to take the win and the spoils of over £10,000 in prize money and prizes. Halo BDS Round 2 Local favourites the Atherton's will be in attendance along with previous World Champion Steve Peat, Josh Bryceland, Brendan Fairclough and last year's winner Marc Beaumont. Practice is all day Saturday with racing on Sunday. What more could you ask for a great family day out in the beautiful Welsh countryside? Parking, camping and spectating is free!
