Circus Of Dirt RD1 This Weekend!

5 April 2011  |
This weekend sees the first round of the Circus of Dirt XC series, and the course designer describes the loop as 'fast, dry and fast'. Hustyns Wood provides the venue courtesy of the Forestry Commission and it's another Cornish gem, which I can guarantee will become well established on your regular ride list after the event. Expect technical climbs, magnetic trees, a cheeky stream crossing or two and some fast downhills interspersed with fire road sections for gel guzzling. Hustyns Woods Event sponsors Race Face and Silverfish will be on hand, catering comes courtesy of the fantastically named Van Rouge, photos from the south west’s favourite Snapper Chick and British Cycling will be running both a Go Ride race and a coaching session the day before. Hustyns Woods You can choose between riding the morning enduro, with one or two hour options – all the thrills of the cross country course without the pressure of competition. Plymouth’s Certini Bicycle Company will be providing the spot prizes for the morning event. Or you can enter the afternoon cross country races – traditional format for all categories in this Regional A ranking race. Podium prizes for all categories courtesy of Shred. Circus attire is not compulsory but clown make up might get you preferential treatment at gridding! Enter all five Circus of Dirt events before April 6th to receive a free event T-shirt.
