The Cinema… Captain Phillips specifically.

I’m a massive fan of films and the cinema in general actually. This week’s chosen flick was Captain Phillips. The new Tom Hanks film based on a true story about the Maersk Alabama, a container ship that was hijacked by Somali Pirates and the madness that then ensues!

My one word review? Intense! I don’t mean a final 10 minutes that put you on the edge of the seat. The entire final hour of the film was absolutely nerve wrenching and probably one of the best films I’ve seen this year.

It comes highly recommended. Go and see it!

Boris Bikes.

Probably my single favourite thing about London.

Sure the people may be rude and the terrain doesn’t lend itself to mountain biking but the lucky people who reside in our nations capital do have the wonderful treat that is the Boris Bike.

It’s simple, the payment scheme works well and the bikes are actually pretty damn fun to razz around the capital. Next time you take a trip to London I would strongly recommend going for a spin!

Christmas gift ideas and decorations appearing in shops already.

I love Christmas as much as the next man but the last time I checked it’s still OCTOBER! Christmas isn’t for another 2 WHOLE MONTHS! Halloween hasn’t even been ticked off the calendar as of yet so how about we get a few more milestones ticked before we start to see the Christmas goodies on the shelves.

I am not feeling even tiniest amount “Christmassy” at all so ramming no amount of red tinsel and reindeer heads will change that until at least December the 1st.

People releasing “Summer” videos now that are making me miss summer 2013.

A prime example is the Trole Industries Purbeck Gold video…

Great video but it still made me sad.

Getting caught out with incorrect clothing for the weather…

It happens to the best of us but I’m not in the habit of making this mistake more than once per winter spell. This week I had the joy of getting pretty damn wet out on what I was hoping to be a quick, fun spin out on the trail bike.

Instead of packing a small bag with a coat and essentials as usual, I cut a corner and opted for the pocket multi tool. I paid the price with a good and proper soaking.

Let my misfortune be a warning to you.
