The Antifreeze

The Antifreeze is a multi lap mountain bike event taking place in the majestic forests of Coed y Brenin Forest Park on March the 1st 2015. The sheltered tree lined slopes provide the perfect location to chase away the cold of winter with a multi lap mountain bike challenge.

Competitors can choose to ride either 1, 2 or 3 laps of the 11.5km course that takes in some of the best that the forest’s way-marked trails have to offer. It’s a staggered start with riders departing in groups of 10 at 2 minute intervals.

The event is open to riders of all abilities of 16 years or over and is comprised of mainly Blue and Red grade trail with any technically demanding trail features being well signposted with plenty of warning. Is should go without saying for anyone who has ridden our events before that great trails with fine riding will be on offer.

The popularity of our Dyfi and Coed y Brenin Enduro mugs hasn’t gone unnoticed and with stories of riders driving hundreds of miles to find a replacement after breakage, we wanted to find an event treasure for The Antifreeze of equal standing, something that could earn it’s place on your favourite things shelf. We think we found it but we’re not telling more at this stage, just make sure you enter early as only riders signed up by December 30th will receive one. As with all good things, they take a little time to produce.

For those unfortunate souls dragged along to offer support we have some good news, the Visitor Centre with its warm, comfort café is located just yards from the start, finish and lap points.
