After last years successful grassroots racing at Penshurst Off Road Cycling, I am very pleased to announce that the PORC Downhill Series is back for 2013.
Dedicated trail builders have been hard at work building tracks and are aiming to get four main downhill tracks built for 2013, two have been completed and we are currently building the third. All the tracks will put your skills to the test and for those who can't make the cut, never fear, there will always be a chicken run alternative.
An uplift road has been built and PORC's owner is in the process of buying an uplift vehicle and trailer.
The Race Series is going to be competitive and fun all in one, and is open to all ages from young rippers to the Veterans.
We're aiming to make this the best Downhill Series to date at PORC. There are seven confirmed race dates booked in for 2013 (see below) which have been meticulously planned around all the other races to be held in the south east of England including the British Downhill Series and Pearce Cycle Series. This is to avoid any clashes with other races in order to get the maximum attendance to our event.
For the first time there will be an online entry system in place. (www.downhillfreeriders.com) Entries are available on a first come first serve basis. There is a maximum of 200 riders which ensures that you get 3 timed runs in, and your fastest run count! Once again we have the support of some great sponsors, with an excellent prize selection.
Whisper Bikes will be there with spares and track side mechanic support for all the races and last but not least there is the usual free parking and camping available to anyone wanting to make a weekend of it.
We look forward to seeing you at at the PORC Downhill Series.
