Easy, affordable, beginner level enduro stage event designed for anybody on any mountain bike, rigid, hardtail or full suspension. Suitable for Novice through to Pro level.
2, easily accessible stages, both starting from top of Bruce's drop, with only a small push up from top of fire road.
1st stage, Lungbuster, is 2.3km with 110m descent, on easy natural trails (Carol Baskin) at start, joining the blue waymarked trail back to center and finishing in event field. We intend to utilise the old single track that used to pass by the Gem Stane, near the Bruntis and Hillbilly Helpers have been working with FLS staff to clear this classic bit of single track from storm damage. There is one minor bypass where 11 windblown trees await harvester clearing so we have made a route around.
2nd stage, Monkey Pox, is shorter and steeper, but all rollable, at 1.4km long and 107m descent. It starts from Bruces drop, on B line XC course from National Champs course, following red trail in reverse to Cairn, avoiding 'carnage' from the PMBA event, then following red way marked trail to natural Monkey Pox trail, finishing in event field. Again, Hillbilly Helpers have been busy on this trail to make it ready for enduro in February.
