Basingstoke MTB Race RD3 of Southern XC 2021

The SouthernXC MTB Race Series is an annual British Cycling regional championships that has a long history, stretching back for over 20 years.

We focus on making Mountain Bike Racing fun, fair, accessible and enjoyable for all who want to join us. We try to design courses that are “easy to ride but hard to ride fast” for anyone with some basic mountain biking skills. Whether you are a seasoned XC racer or your new to riding mountain bikes, we hope you’ll have a blast at a SouthernXC MTB Race.

We have categories for everyone, with British Cycling national ranking points available in many. If it’s your first time racing your mountain bike then have a look at the Fun or Open categories.

The Course

Folly Farm was a new venue for SouthernXC in 2019, and we had a great first visit, we built a classic old school XC MTB racecourse that got better and better all day as more riders raced it. In 2020 we had to visit later in the year and raced on a different part of the venue.

In 2021 we’re going back to the original course we built for 2019, with a few additions and some changes of direction, we think it’s going to be even better!

Expect lots of classic woodland singletrack with some testing climbs and rewarding descents.
