The Reading MTB Race RD1 of Southern XC 2021

The SouthernXC MTB Race Series is an annual British Cycling regional championships that has a long history, stretching back for over 20 years.

We focus on making Mountain Bike Racing fun, fair, accessible and enjoyable for all who want to join us. We try to design courses that are “easy to ride but hard to ride fast” for anyone with some basic mountain biking skills. Whether you are a seasoned XC racer or your new to riding mountain bikes, we hope you’ll have a blast at a SouthernXC MTB Race.

We have categories for everyone, with British Cycling national ranking points available in many. If it’s your first time racing your mountain bike then have a look at the Fun or Open categories.

The Course

This classic SouthernXC venue is a super-compact course that’s relatively flat, making it great for both beginners having their first crack at mountain bike racing and more experienced competitors.

Mountain Bike Racing here is a brilliant experience with this course always leading to tight racing, and the twisting singletrack means you never feel far away from your competitors.

The narrow woodland tracks are broken up by wide grass paths to make recovery and overtaking easy.
