SouthernXC looks a little different for 2020, in order to keep both competitors and organisers safe we will be running racing in a different format than we are used to.
Saturday's Racing will for the first time in 2020 include U10/U12 and Youth/Juvenile races along with an Adult race in the afternoon for parents who have a child racing earlier in the day.
Sunday we will have 4 sessions of Adult racing using our Socially Distanced format from the first 3 races in 2020.
Instead of mass start racing using the British Cycling age and ability categories that usually make up our days schedule, you will now be racing in smaller mixed gender and mixed ability sessions to ensure compliance with guidelines surrounding large events.
We need your help to reduce the risk of COVID-19 being spread at our events, so please stick to the shedule of your selected time slots and observe social distancing of 2m at all times in the arena and car park.
If you feel at all unwell or are showing symptoms of COVID-19 please do not attend the event.
When you complete your entry online you will be able to choose from a number of sessions throughout the day. These sessions will be open to all adult riders and will be mixed ability and gender to allow the most flexibility possible.
Each session will have an Arrival time, Practice time and Race time. You must adhere to these times to ensure that the day runs smoothly.
The start of your race and practise lap will be staggered in a Time Trial style, with riders being set off at safe intervals to complete their race laps.
After your race we ask you leave site promptly to make way for the following session.
The sessions will run as follows:
- No site entry before arrival time.
- 30 min for sign-on.
- Approx 30 min practice.
- Time-Trial style staggered start.
- Your race will be over a pre-determined number of laps.
- You will not be able to start another lap after 1 hour on the race clock.
- You have 45 min to complete your last lap and leave the site.
- Results will be available on-line only.
- Spectators: Sadly we cannot allow any spectators in the venue, anyone entering the site must be racing or accompanying a child who is racing. Thank you for supporting this, you are really helping us keep the event safe! Anyone who is on site and not racing will be asked to leave.
- Pits/Trade/Refreshments: To limit the amount of onsite contact and encourage social distancing there will be no Pits, Trade or Refreshments at the venue. With this in mind please come prepared.
Hang tight for a event website! We're working on it
