Bike it! In the Forest of Dean, join us for a cycling adventure on Sunday 15 July 2012 and raise vital funds for Diabetes UK.
Set in the heart of the Forest the family cycle trail is surrounded by beautiful scenery and extraordinary views. The trail is a 12 mile circular route mainly on former railway lines, which has been especially surfaced and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
This year we will be adding an additional section to the trail for more advanced cyclists, wishing to take on a more challenging experience.
FOR MORE ADVANCED CYCLISTS ONLY
This year we have added an additional 7 miles of more demanding terrain for those of you who are experienced cyclist and want to take on a more extreme challenge. The Verderers trail is widely acclaimed as the best new trail in Britain, the Verderer's incorporates fast, flowing flat out corners, big berms and rollovers. With some tricky challenges, the trail gently winds uphill before a swooping, flat top section and a brilliant descent on the Dragon's Tail that will have you hooting and hollering all the way down.
If you don’t have a bike, there is cycle hire available. Details of costs and how to book cycle hire will be sent as part of the registration pack.
To take part you just need to complete the registration form, which you can download from the top right of this page and return it to us by Friday 6 July, with cheques made payable to Diabetes UK.
The registration fee is £5 per cyclist and under 10’s go free. All registration fees go towards covering the cost of staging the event, we therefore ask cyclists to aim to raise as much sponsorship as possible which will then come directly to Diabetes UK.
