This is a grass roots mountain bike event suited for familys, racers and non-cyclist alike. It is an annual event hosted each year to raise funds for Alyth Bike Park.
The event is free to attend but there is an entry fee for the races. For prices and to enter please click the link to British Cycling - https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/143168/Alyth-Bike-Park---Making-Tracks
Making Tracks is about trying to raise some of that money as well as running an event that showcases the Bike Park and the wider riding on Alyth Hill. This year we're repeating the XC Stage race with a new route. Bringing the event village right next to the Bike Park. Giving U16/U14/U12's the opportunity to compete in their own timed stage race (is anyone else running this sort of thing?). XC racing for U10/U8/U6's.
Alyth Bike Park opened in July 2014 after four years of hard work by Alyth Hill Users Group (SC043382) developing a relationship with the Forestry Commission that resulted in AHUG leasing the land and securing funding to build the Bike Park. With a Bike Park comes the responsibility of maintenance and insurance (£950 annually). Whilst maintenance is done by volunteers the there is a time in the future where we will have to buy in material to make sure the Bike Park continues to ride well.
