UK Bike Park Winter Series - Round 1 Report

13 November 2012  |

Last Sunday saw the first round of UK Bike Parks winter calendar get underway with a field of 69 riders taking on the super fast and technical Devils Dyke.

The track featured a flat out start, straight off the ramp, into a sizeable drop then into the first technical rock section. It then continued to make its way down the steep off camber hillside through a sequence of switchbacks and big greasy chalky turns with plenty of roots thrown in for good measure.

The bottom section of the track was a 30mph+ sprint for the line with a ballsy road gap straight into a tight left hand turn before breaking the beam and joining the uplift queue to return to the top.

The race even had an international presence with 2 of the guys from Ryde racing making the long journey across the channel from France to turn out for the race down in the South West. and very nearly took home the fastest time of the day.

Check out our video from the day and some photos courtesy of Ian Loveland.
