Register for Mondraker Enduro Team 2023

12 December 2022  |

For the seventh time already, MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM, the established team enduro fun race for experienced mountain bikers, will take place in Davos Klosters, Switzerland, from 7th to 9th September 2023.

After last year's test run with a small e-bike category, the OC has decided to integrate e-bikes into the FUN TEAM category of 3 to 6 people from 2023. In addition, there are of course the classic, established teams of two. As kind of early Christmas, the registration portal will open on Wednesday, 21st December 2022, at 12 noon: www.enduro-team.ch/en.

The kids race, which celebrated its premiere in 2022, will take place slightly extended on Sunday, 10 September 2023.

Unlimited fun, great camaraderie and the best trails with an impressive mountain panorama around the Grisons destination Davos Klosters – that’s what MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM stands for. It is one of the few Enduro races for teams in Europe and is accordingly popular in the international mountain bike scene. The previous events have therefore always been sold out quickly, for teams of two as well as for fun teams of 3 to 6 people. Last year, it only took a few hours from the opening of the registration...

E-Bikes newly integrated into FUN TEAMs

After a test run of a small e-bike category with teams of two last time due to repeated demand, electric bikes will be newly integrated into the FUN TEAMs at MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM 2023. "The desire to ride our event with e-bikes is definitely there. However, a separate category is not justified according to our experience of the last year. The interest was too low and the effort too high", summarises race director Michi Wild from the Bike Academy Davos. "Nevertheless, we want e-bikers to be able to take part in MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM. That's why we are integrating them into the FUN TEAM category from 2023. So, from now you can start with an e-bike in a FUN TEAM – but at least one team member must always ride a conventional bike without a motor", Michi Wild explains. "This way, bikers with less endurance will benefit from the motor, especially in the transfers – but the teams will hardly have an advantage in the timed stages. The focus still lies on having fun - we want to remain true to ourselves", adds Michi Wild.

Early Christmas: Register from 21 December 2022

In addition to the meanwhile established FUN TEAM category, now including e-bikes, you can of course also start in the classic categories for teams of two, MEN, WOMEN, MIXED and 77+. Starting places at the event are limited, especially due to the capacity of the mountain railways of Davos Klosters. All in all, the race is open to 450 participants. The exact number of teams again depends on the size of the registered FUN TEAMS. As kind of early Christmas, the registration platform for MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM 2023 will open on 21st December 2022 at 12 noon. If you want to be there, register as soon as possible: www.enduro-team.ch/en. Last time, the event was sold out within a few hours. "We expect huge interest again for 2023", organiser Britta Wild is convinced. "We have an extremely loyal field of participants, almost all of whom want to join again. With every edition, there are more and more returnees. That's why we're giving them a small head start on registration this time too – but only a few hours."

New routes for repeaters

Also at the seventh edition, returning bikers should once again get to know new trails and combinations in the Davos Klosters region. Because the routes at MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM are not just given: “We’re changing a significant part of the race tracks every year, so that our numerous returnees always get their money's worth when it comes to trail fun”, race director Michi Wild explains his credo. “Our region offers a huge number of attractive mountain bike trails. So, we are far from running out of ideas and new compositions", he promises.

The best trails in best company

At MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM, the teams cover a total of some 120 kilometres in three days, ride some 1500 metres uphill and some 10,000 metres downhill. As in a common Enduro race, MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM also runs several stages per day, i.e. measured sections. These mainly lead downhill and last a few minutes each. Between these descents, the participants cover various transfer stages without time measurement, often supported by mountain railways. Transferring gives time to enjoy the impressive alpine scenery of the Grisons mountains or to chat with other race participants from all over Europe and overseas and to cultivate the international bike community. “Our goal is to show experienced mountain bikers from all over the world the most beautiful trails of the destination Davos Klosters in best company”, Britta Wild sums up. The trails are varied and attractive - but sometimes also technically demanding, as they are almost exclusively alpine, natural trails and no men-built flow trails. A certain level of riding on the mountain bike therefore is a must for a lot of fun at MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM.

Kids race to be expanded, now on Sunday

The absolutely unique team enduro race for kids, which celebrated its extremely successful premiere on the last day of the 2022 event, will be continued in 2023.However, it will now be held on Sunday, 10 September 2023, i.e. the day after the adult race. " Youth development is an affair of the heart for us. The first edition of ENDURO TEAM for Kids was a real highlight, which is why we would like to expand the kids race", says organiser Britta Wild from the Bike Academy Davos. "But this is only possible if we can find the corresponding capacity on the part of the organisation. That's why the kids will now have their own event day – and thus at least an additional third or maybe even fourth stage compared to the two last time", explains Britta Wild with a lot of enthusiasm. "In addition, more children will be able to take part, so it will be an even bigger happening. In short, the youngsters deserve our full attention." The kids also race in teams of two and arrive at the same finish area as the adult participants. "We want the kids to get a real taste of MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM!" Unlike in the adult’s race,
the kids stages will not be ridden "blind", but will be announced in advance. Participation is for children from 8 to 15 years with an advanced mountain bike level, divided into four age groups. The entry fee is CHF 60 per team. Kids teams can also register from 21st December 2022, at 12 noon: www.enduro-team.ch/en/kidsrace.

Endura will be a partner again in 2023
