Marzocchi signs on as title sponsor for the Airdrome in Munich
Marzocchi has officially signed on as the title sponsor for the Airdrome, the first large invite-only dirt jump contest in Germany in 2006 and the so far biggest indoor dirt jump event worldwide. The Marzocchi Airdrome on December 15th will be part of "SuperCross-Over Munich", a large indoor motocross festival with the longest indoor motocross course in Germany. Indoor dirt jump events have been quite rare in the sport of mountain biking so far. During the winter, it’s the perfect option for all bike fans to admire extreme tricks on a mountain bike with the maximum amount of airtime and to see what the world best mountain bikers are able to do. The Italian suspension manufacturer Marzocchi decided for various reasons to be title sponsor of this winter highlight. "Marzocchi is one of the most popular manufactures for mountain bikes and motorcycle suspension. Two activities that people usually practice in the summer time. An indoor event like the Airdome brings all the fans of both extreme sports together, being part of the game makes the winter time not so long and cold!" Francesco Marzari, Marzocchi’s European Marcom Manager about their involvement at the Airdrome. This year, "SuperCross-Over Munich" takes place in the Bavarian metropolis of Munich for the 8th time since 1999. Last year over 20,000 spectators came to the Olympic Hall – a location which usually hosts famous bands. Having focused on disciplines such as Super Cross and FMX during the previous years, there will also be a mountain bike dirt jump contest for the first time this winter. The organizers of the event have realized the additional value in mountain biking and therefore decided to add it to the event. Apart from the Dirt Jump Invitational, there will be a Super Cross race and a FMX contest with motocross legend Ronnie Renner taking place at the opening of the event on Friday evening, December 15th. The riders of the Marzocchi Airdrome are looking for one more podium finish to cap off their amazing seasons. Some of them will definitely have new tricks to show. Even though bike season in Northern Europe is already over for this year, bikes are still in daily use in areas such as Southern California. Confirmed riders: Cameron McCaul (USA) Jamie Goldman (USA) Carlo Dieckmann (GER) Timo Pritzel (GER) Lance McDermott (UK) Grant Fielder (UK) Trond Hansen (NOR) Lluis Lacondeguy (ESP) Andreu Lacondeguy (ESP) Darren Berrecloth (CAN) Greg Watts (USA) Pascal Breitenstein (CH) Christopher Hatton (FRA) John Jesme (USA) Last year, the seats were packed on Friday night – purchase tickets in advance now, so you don't miss the opportunity to experience the Marzocchi Airdrome live and to see the world’s best riders send it for the last time in 2006.
