Looking for an organised ride to join in Morzine?
New Morzine based bike shop, Torico Morzine are keeping up with age-old the bike shop tradition of running weekly shop rides. Every Monday, shop staff and local volunteers will be setting off from the store at 10am, aiming to clock up some serious miles in the saddle. You can join them to discover some of the area's best trails. Rides are free and open to anyone – but you must be an experienced mountain biker. These rides will be of high technicality, long duration and generally away from the usual trails. Guy from Torico Morzine gives us the lowdown: 'Starting as we mean to go on - the first 'Big Monday' ride will take place on the 7th June. Leaving the shop at 10am, we'll be setting our sights on the Col d'Encrenaz and Essert Romand. We'll be able to use the Pleney lift to get over to Les Gets, but after that we're on our own. We'll have to climb up to Mont Caly before heading to Encrenaz, then head up to the Col de la Basse before descending down to Essert Romand and then back to Morzine for a few beers. A great way to start the season.' Find out details of this and future rides at www.toricomorzine.com Jointly run by Morzine based flowmtb and Dorset based shop Torico Performance Bicycles, Torico Morzine is the bike shop Morzine's been waiting for: a bike shop run by mountain bikers. All staff are mountain bikers and will happily show you their favourite routes on the map, and in the guide books. WHERE: Torico Morzine, Le Bevire, 42 Route du Plan, Morzine, France Near Bar Robinsons and the Mairie. WHEN: 10am Monday throughout the summer COST: FREE! INFO: www.toricomorzine.com
