LOCALS: James Shere - Kona Cindercone

In our new weekly feature, we are getting out and about on the trails to meet everyday locals and find out a bit more about them and their bikes.

How long have you been riding?
I think I've been riding probably since I was about 5 years old!

How often do you ride?
Well this has been the second time this year... We've been trying a lot more but my mate has been away in New Zealand. Now he's back we'll probably be out most weekends.

What Bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up?
It's Kona Cindercone back from 2007 almost everything on it is fairly standard. The only things I've changed on it are the stem, put a bigger rotor on the front hub and I've changed the brakes from the Hayes Soles that came with it as standard to a set of Avid Juicy's. I've also changed the pedals to a grippier set. Apart from that its pretty much how it came!

What types of riding do you normally do?
This year I have been mainly doing a lot of road riding, and as I said this is the second time out on the mountain bike this year. Now the weather is turning into autumn and winter it'll be mountain biking all the way.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The last new bit of gear of here was a new set of break pads but I'm not entirely sure that counts. I will probably look to upgrade to a new bike in the future.

What are your local trails?
My local trails are up at Haldon, but we sometimes go up on the Quantocks and over to Woodbury Common.

What's your favourite part on your bike?
I don't really know what my favourite part on here is... Probably the brakes now I have upgraded them to the Juicy's. These actually help me to stop!

What other bikes do you own?
I have a racing bike, 2 other mountain bikes, a BMX from back when I was 7 and a motorbike!
