In this weeks LOCALS we catch up Ben Kay from Exeter who rides a very constomized Specialized Hardrock with some tidy Rockshox Recon forks... Check it out

In our weekly feature, we are getting out and about on the trails to meet everyday locals and find out a bit more about them and their bikes.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Name: Ben Kay
Age:15
Location:Exeter
Job:Student/ Till operative
Bike: Custom Specialized Hardrock

Do you have an interesting fact about yourself?
I don't know really... I break my bike quite alot?

How long have you been riding?
Since I was 7, so something like 8 years... Quite a long time I guess!

How often do you ride?
Usually once aweek but more like twice a week when its sunny in the summer.

What bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up?
I have an accient Specialized Hardrock frame with 2010 120mm travel Rockshox Recon forks and Bontrager Big Earl bars paired with a kore stem. I stop with Avid Juicy 3 brakes and pedal with some bright green DMR V8 pedals.

What types of riding do you normally do?
A mixture of Downhill, Trail and All Mountain.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The bars and stem were probably the last new thing on here.

What are your local trails?
Haldon on the outskirts of Exeter!

What's your favourite part on your bike?
Gotta be the forks I reckon. I have them set up sweet for the kind of things we get up to.

What's the next upgrade you have planned for the bike?
Ahhh absolutely loads! New frame, 2x10 drivetrain, new crankset and some replacement brakes. Quite alot I guess!

What other bikes do you own?
I have a trials bike at home and a BMX

Any last words for us?
Get out and ride as much as you can! Enjoy it whilst you can!
