Are you into Mountain Biking? Are you looking for a challenge? Do you want to encourage cycling in the Chilterns?
If the answer is yes – why not put yourself forward for a chance to manage one of the south’s most exhilarating mountain bike areas and develop facilities at a neighbouring country park.
The Forestry Commission is seeking expressions of interest from those interested in managing the renowned Aston Hill Mountain Bike Area and creating a new cycling resource in the adjacent Wendover Woodland Park.
Aston Hill Mountain Bike Area has long been recognised as one of the most successful privately managed mountain bike areas in the UK. With the current management team moving on there is an opportunity to take this exciting project into its second decade. In addition, there is scope to develop cycling and leisure facilities for family visitors in neighbouring Wendover Woodland Park.
Approximately 350,000 visitors per year enjoy the family cycle trail, café, children’s play equipment and waymarked walks at the beautiful park. Cycle hire or similar recreational facilities have yet to be fully developed at this venue, providing entrepreneurs with ample opportunity to develop suitable activities.
Expression of interest forms can be obtained by writing to the address below or phoning 01420 520461. The final date for submission of completed templates to the Forestry Commission is 12 noon, 27th October 2006. Documents should be sent to Estates Department, South East England Forest District, Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham, Surrey, GU10 4LS and marked TENDER – Aston Hill & Wendover.
