Easton release new range of 35mm diameter Havoc bar and stems
20 April 2012 | By gregberryEaston have just released their new range 35mm Havoc bars and stems! Using a wider bar/clamp diameter this allows the bars to be lighter, stiffer and stronger than anything else on the market.
Using that new 35mm diameter, these carbon Havoc's look like they can take a beating!
Easton Havoc 35 Carbon Bar:
We took the industry-leading Havoc Carbon handlebar—the strongest handlebar on the market—and made it stronger. And lighter. And stiffer. And did we mention the new Havoc 35 Carbon is also 50-millimeters wider? We achieved this by borrowing from Easton’s motocross handlebar technology and upgrading the bar/stem clamp diameter to 35-millimeters. This new system makes such a dramatic difference in strength and steering precision that after one run, you’ll never want to ride another downhill bar.

The fatter new stem looks like a great system. With the Top Lock Technology, that helps distribute the stress of the bars clamped to the stem better.

This stem is fully CNC machined from a massive chunk of aluminum and features a host of clever designs (like Top Lock Technology™ and Distributed Stress Technology™) to remove stress risers and eliminate rocking caused by floating faceplates. The Havoc 35 Bolt-On is the very best gravity stem money can buy. In addition to looking like jewelry for your DH bike, this stem utilizes Easton’s new Havoc 35 bar/stem clamp diameter. With this stem you can rest assured that there is nothing stronger or stiffer. This stem is fully CNC machined from a massive chunk of EA90 aluminum and is tested to forces well beyond industry standards for both impact and fatigue, so your frame will explode long before your stem is compromised. Not to mention, at little more than 100 grams, this is one of the lightest options available (about as light as our EC90 SL carbon XC stem).
The Havoc 35 Bolt-On is compatible with any Rock Shox Boxxer or Fox 40 fork, and is adaptable to three length settings (45 and 50 millimeters). It features negative 5-millimeters of rise to keep your front end low and fast and is available in two colors—black or anodized orange.
