The weekend of the 2/3rd September will witness one hell of battle for final series positions in Pro Elite Category between Series Leader Martin Ogden (Identiti Bikes) and Scott Beaumont (Rocky Mountain UK).
Other titles up for the taking...
Juvenile
Always a very competitive category for 12 to 14 year olds, with Tom Knight newly crowned National 4X Champion at Moelfre in July, Josh West (MAW Racing) current series leader is very keen to take the title but can he stop Tom from making the double.
Youth
Tom Dowie (Identiti Bikes) has pretty much dominated this years series with 4 wins from out of five only Bernard Kerr (Marzocchi The Bicycle Fairy) has taken a win from Tom this year. It will be all change next year with Tom going up into Junior.
Junior
Pat Campbell (Identiti Bikes) current series leader with Martin "Digger" Wetheralt (Dirt Bike Supply) taking his first national 4x win at Portreath things are hotting up, Current National 4X Champion Chris Jackons (Curtis Bikes) and Lewis Lacey both taking wins this year but only doing two rounds so far and missing a lot of the series things could have been very different.
Seniors
This is always a big category and lot of very fast powerful guys racing for the title Ryan Poolman Revell Bikes has won 3 of races so far this season and looks to be taking the series title from James Norton (Urban Air) and Jason Jessop who is always in the thick of the action Dave Richardson (Flow Bikes Descent World) has been unlucky this year and swapped his downhill bike for a bmx to find a some speed.
Masters
This is another category that still amazing how these old guys are still so quick and having the most fun even the B finals can be turned into pump races! Darren Howarth Kona has took the series win from Aidan Bishop who just a few years ago was a very quick Pro Downhill rider and upped the racing in 06 with speed, Dominic Bent is in 3rd at the moment which is a very good series so far.
A mention should go to Jeff Dovey. Revell Bikes still in 4 place in the series who broke his foot at the 4X National Champs in July, well broke his foot is an understatement, (he managed to scatter all the bones in his foot which will mean lots of operations and bone graph from his hip to try and fit it! We will doing a race for Jeff to help raise some money for the operation).
Paddy Baker (Dialled Bikes) & Simon Rickett (Dirt Bike Supply) are both there or there about's in the thick of it with a few podiums between them both still looking for there first National win.
Elite Girls
With only Kim Bent (Fat Face Weldlite Cp Cycles) & Joey Gough (Morewood Racing) The series it been a two horse race Joey took the National 4X Championship at Moelfre and the 5th at the World Championships in New Zealand with the British Team Kim has done loads of hard work and promotion for girls to race in the 4X series and resulted in the biggest turn out of girls this year, hope to see them move up into the series race categories next year.
So there you have it the series titles still up for grabs, its all going to kickoff at Chicksands on Sunday 3rd September, practrice starts at 10am racing at 12pm come and race or just come to watch what will be amazing racing on the ultra fast dirt of Chicksands.
