Summary:
Rather disappointing, especially after paying £7.50 to park the car at this visitor centre.
Review:
I went after a week of sun, and there was still mud up to your axle. The route is quite flat with awkward corners in the wrong places. I went on the freeride park halfway around, which was very good and made up for the XC track.
Very much a beginner’s route.

Very good

Some really good single track, you get everything from tight and twisty to wide, downhill and fast. Freeride area is on a slope and looks pretty challenging (I didn't even attempt it!). After a prolonged period of rain some parts of the trail are REALLY muddy and I mean DEEP mud; almost to the point of being unrideable. Other than that it's a great day out, fun and challenging.

Best you're going to get in the South East

Its never going to be wales is it? But, that said it could be better.
Major mud when its been raining a bit.
Surface seems to sap speed and energy (maybe its just me!)
Dodgy corners.
Good for beginners, but, even when taken fast, a bit boring.

I thought the trail was fab but the map telling you where you go was a bit dodgey.

excellent fun, and then some...

It really is sooo much fun. I've been to Bedgebury for 4 days out now and loved every single ride. I am learning alot about riding being a bit of a newbie and compared to other places I've been it's got everything you might want in a track including quite a bit of nice downhill stuff that is really choppy and it is very easy to get caught out on quite a bit of it. I'm currently averaging one trip over the bars for every time I've been.
I had a quick go on some of the north shore stuff and bottled it, lol, but they are building new bits and the 2 guys who knew what they were doing gave a top demonstration of how much fun you can have on it, and how impressive it is to watch!
They also have marker posts with an emergency phone number on if someone hits a tree as well as bike wash and shower facilities.
On the down side, the prices have just popped up a fair bit. I'm sure the last time I went the baguettes were about £2.50, and now they are £4 each so take sandwiches, the coffe cup shave gotten smaller, and it might well be worth investigating membership if you're gonna be a regular. The visitors centre does get a bit rammed at lunch time as well.
You do need to be a bit careful on the road to and from the trail. On the way back it is a very very fast downhill run which is really tempting to fly down, and later in the day, you do get a lot of families and kids about, but visibility is excellent so you have no excuse. At the bottom of that hill, and just round a very nice left hand bend, is a junction where people seem to like hanging about in the middle of, I do mean right in the middle of, so ere on the side of caution. Nearer to the visitors centre you get more and more ppl standing around and it quite tempting to hack down the lane that leads to it, but again, I think it's better safe than sorry.
Me and my cousin hope that they will build a ramp so people can jump into the lake by the visitors centre, and that they might start doing reverse course days, adding some beginners stuff to the tricks section and carry on doing what they are doing cos it's pretty bloody good!
