Summary:
A toughie, more like real mountain biking than tame trail centre trails!

Review:
The trails are great, but not if you don't like rocks, there's a lot on the Red trail.
Up to around the 1/2 way point I would say it was reasonably challenging (I was only on my Hardtail) with some quick, rocky descents to keep you on your toes.
There aren't any real challenges with regard to climbs, but they are ok.
The mid point marks a section that is seriously the most "UNFLOWING" section i've seen for a while, it's just rocks rocks rocks, not enjoyable!!!
Then 1/2 way onwards it's a bit more smooth and flowing, and I have to agree, the Omega Man is really a cool blast to finish the ride with a smile!!

I rode on my own, and to be honest I backed of a bit on some rocky sections due to being weary of a crash and being on my own!
Took me 1:50 mins to do a lop which was a reasonable pace, I would probably do it again, but not on the hard tail!!

Worth a ride if you are in the area and fed up of smooth trail centre trails, this is more like real biking!!! :-)

Oh, and the facilities are great, and FREE PARKING!!!

Excellent trail

Review:
I totally enjoyed my lap of Ae. I did the trail alone and really got a sense of being in the thick of wilderness.

I hit on with the weather which made for some fantastic views.

The trail itself is very challenging (in a good way), it definately shakes you to your very core on a hard tail, I can vouch for that.

I would say this is an alrounder, good trying up hills to test stamina and up hill technical skills, well flowing challenging down hills. it also give you the opportunity to test your nerve on the last section of omega man with some well designed jumps/drop offs etc, each of which have a easier red bypass path to the side if they're too extreme for you.

Fun

Review:
This trail is pretty fun with some big drops, but it is a bit short and riding along the fireroads to get to the top of the trail is not really worth the effort if your really tired already like i was ha, its a long way!

Soooooooo fun!

Review:
I love this trail its so fun, full of jumps and berms and great singletrack bits. The climbing can get annoying because most of it is on fireroad so it gets boring.
But overall is a really good fun trail and the last section - The omega man is brilliant.
When you have been down the omega man you will want to do it again and again. I have to say the push back up is annoying though :(

Difficult to Tell

Review:
Rode in January 2009 along with Mabie, Dalbeatie, Glentress, Innerleithen & Kirroughtree.

Compared to the others mentioned this was very definitely the worst.

At the time visiting about 50% of the trails were shut & you get diverted onto the fireroad and green/blue trails instead for large sections of the trail.

I'm sure it will be better once the work is finished, but for now it really isn't worth the trip.
