Summary:
Sideways rain and hail

Review:
Totally underdressed for the weather we experienced but still managed to have a superb time. The lower and upper red trails were excellent, but beware of the boardwalk! In that rain you'll have virtually no traction on it and with a 3ft drop off either side you'll have a few hairy moments. The blue trail (which is shown as orange on the track!)has some excellent tight and fast banked corners, perfect for novices. The upper red trail is a bit more technical but ideal for intermediate level riders like myself. All in all you get a superb amount of downhill riding for what seems like a very minor climb. Loved it

Fast and Fun

Review:
This route has been regraded to Orange throughout. I really found this track to be great fun. It is a combination of fast jumps and berms and the drag up is not so long that you can't cycle up a few times and session it. It definately deserves trying out.

Summary:
Too windy for snowboarding

Review:
Ventured up to my native north for the weekend for some snowboarding, but the snow gods didn't oblige. Lucky we put bikes in the car too. The drive out gives you an idication of how good the views are when you get to the top. Parked up at the cafe/shop and was told by the dude in the shop that it was busy! clearly never been to the buzzards nest on a summer weekend! Ride out of the car park is nice slow climb on fire road, then the trail splits right to the new red loop recently added and left to the more established trail, we headed up to the right to try out the new, nice techy singletrack climbing, rolling over the huge bolders placed into the bog, nice challenging change from rolling over timber. The views from the top are well worth a wee break. The run down has two options red and black. With the 'advice' from the girlfriend we took the red, very new trail and hence not quite bedded in, the surface resembled marbles if you strayed even slightly off line. This however will pass as the trail is used more often, it has a few nice little jumps and berms then you head into the trees again for some really nice fast singletrack, which spits you out on the same fireroad climb you began on, climb and left next. The older more well trodden trail, with well known 45 degree slabs all good fun. End with the fun park down the hill to the car park. All good trails in a really nice spot. And!... a free bike wash! 7stanes take note!
